Melissa enters Nectarine and moves through the crowd. She makes her way up the stairs and takes an empty balcony. Leaning on the railing Melissa watches the dance floor below. Melissa's foot begins to tap to the music and a small smile creeps over her face.

Glass, already leaning on the rail, nudges Melissa's arm with his elbow and smirks.
"Hey, 'Lissa. You just gonna pretend not to see me all night?"
He stirs a tall glass of some neon blue concoction swimming with half melted ice, a look of nostalgic resignation on his face.
"And before you ask, no, I didn't buy it. Every time I come here, I get like six people recognizing me and buying me drinks over the course of the night. I used to love that. Kind of ironic that between me and the booze, I'm not the one getting wasted." Glass drops a small piece of ice down the shirt of a girl at the bar below, watching her gasp at the sensation and look around in confusion.
"Heh."

Melissa Takes a step back and her right hand dives into her pocket. Her eyes are wide and determine as she looks for the source of the voice. "Glass" Melissa says almost as a gasp. Her body relaxes with relief and she puts her right hand over her chest. "I see you're getting use to your new abilities. You really shouldn't scare people like that ." Melissa manages to give Glass a smile. " It's good to see you. I got your message from Aleksandr. Thanks for thinking of me." She pauses for a moment with a look of utter delight. " Are you playing tonight?"

"Oh, yeah, sorry if I wigged you." Glass sips blue drink into his tiny cocktail straw, then spurts it out onto the dancing crowd below.
Turning around and leaning with his back and elbows against the railing, Glass quirks his mouth. "Nah, probably not tonight. This one's strictly a social. I'm here cause... Well, I guess we'll say I'm here cause there's someone I'm trying not to see tonight. She usually shows up when I play, but I can lose her in a crowd."
With one last wistful sigh, Glass looks at his drink, then hands it off to an obviously underage clubgoer. "Hey kid. I ain't thirsty. Enjoy."
Glass hops and takes a seat on the railing. "So what's up with you?"

Melissa takes her time in answering, pausing to watch the young party-goer as he leaves.
"Just dealing with something from my past." She eyes Glass. "I'm guessing you have some experience with that. So..." Melissa bites her lip. "I always thought you and Crystal would end up together. Does she know about..." She gestures in the air across Glass's body. "...You?" she finishes lamely.

"Oh, man, straight to the heavy shit, huh? Well, at least that means you listened to my old stuff from back with Crystal."
Glass runs the fingers of one hand through his hair and purses his lips thoughtfully. "I don't know if she's 'known about me' for a few years now. That was sort of the problem. Part of it, anyway. It's hard to say, with her. We don't not love each other; that was never it." Glass looks at his hands and begins to idly twist one of his rings.
"I dunno. When it works, it works so fucking well. But it doesn't always work. We started together, but you're not always lucky enough to end up where you start. Maybe it's supposed to be like that." Glass hops down from the railing and puts his hands in his pockets. "Besides, there's this other girl that gets real weird when Crys and I start spending a lot of time together."
Suddenly, Glass blinks and snaps back to reality. "Sheesh, sorry about all that. To answer your question, no, I haven't told her about this latest status update. I don't know how. If you told me two years ago what I'm thinking of telling her now, I'd have gotten you some water and told you to lay down until the speedball wore off. I mean, this shit still sounds like fiction to me, and I've already been dead for like two months now."

"I always forget that not everyone grew up in this life like I did. It must be weird to step into a world that you never knew existed." Melissa frowns and looks into Glass's eyes. " I'm Sorry I must seem like a crazy stalker fan, asking about your love life…… " She blurts out suddenly and puts her hands over her face in embarrassment.
Melissa reveals her face and looks over the dance floor. " It's just your music got me through a lot of hard stuff in college. I could see something in your songs, almost like another world. Your like my J.D. Salinger, if you know what I mean." She Pauses and smiles. " You probably get that a lot."

"Ha! As long as it doesn't inspire you to kill any presidents, I'll take that as a compliment," Glass says with a smirk. After a moment, Glass furrows his brow and looks up at nothing, obviously contemplating something. "Wait a sec, you said you grew up with this. Now I'm kinda confused. Aleksandr said that a person stops aging when they turn, but you look around the same age as me. How'd you manage that?"

" O, I didn't get turned in till I was twenty five. My parents were ghouls. I was razed to be one myself but my sire felt that I would make a better kindred." Melissa takes a deep breath and leans on the railing. " Speaking of Aleksandr, Hows he doing. Gun fights , car chases, and snake kin. Wow, That man knows how to get into trouble."

Glass nods a few times as he comes to understand the situation. "Huh, well, lucky you, I guess. What do your folks think of that? I imagine that could get kind of awkward. But yeah, Alex is going pretty hard these days. I think that attempt on his life really got to him. Artists can tend to be somewhat... 'emotionally heightened,' we'll call it. Throw in immortality, super powers, and what probably amounts to a complete shedding of a normal moral code, and... yeah..." Glass looks at the floor with a distant expression.
"So do you ever consider turning them? Your parents, I mean. Have they asked you? Would you get in trouble? Or, jeez, come to think of it, would you even want to turn them? I don't think I could handle spending eternity in a world where my parents would always be around. Outliving them was a pretty attractive feature to this whole, uh, lifestyle choice."

Melissa carefully composes her face and slowly looks at Glass. "My parents were proud when I got turned. My sire hasn't decided to turn a member of my family in four generations. And no they never asked me." She looks away and thinks for a moment. "My parents were killed by hunters. If they were alive my sire would decide how they met their death. I don't know if Alex has told to you about ghouls but in the kindred community their considered property."
Melissa bites her lip again and hurries to change the subject. " So, who is this other woman? The one who gets real weird when you and Crystal are together. "

Alex strolls up, obviously out of place in a gray gabardine suit, a takes a seat. Thumbing the rim of his glass and giving a distasteful look to either the dancing or the music. It is not being hidden that Alex isn't here for the atmosphere. Turning a blatant ear to the conversation at hand, Alex waits and listens.
